Italian extrusion technology company Bausano today announced the launch of its next-generation twin-screw plastic extrusion system in the United States and Canada. The MD Plus and MD Nextmover production lines are suitable for extruding pipes, pellets, wood-plastic composites and profiles, and materials used in the medical industry.

In announcing the news, Bausano stated that the combination of the patented Multidrive transmission system, careful study of screw geometry, and a new generation of motors and tools for consumption analysis can provide a high level of efficiency, durability, reliability and Sustainability.

Vice President Clemente Bausano said in a prepared statement: “Our extrusion line is the culmination of advanced engineering, combining innovation with more than 70 years of plastic conversion process expertise.” He emphasized that the Multidrive system improves extrusion The efficiency and service life of the equipment.

The company explained that the multi-drive technology greatly reduces the stress on the motor shafts, gears and screws by distributing the tightening torque strain between the two pairs of motors. This design improves accuracy while reducing energy use. It also reduces the possibility of failure due to excessive stress on mechanical components and ensures a longer average service life of the machine. The motor is managed by a single static frequency converter to ensure consistent and synchronized rotation.

The MD Nextmover series uses a new Digital Extruder Control 4.0 system with a capacitive multi-touch panoramic screen. It performs continuous, real-time screening, and accurately analyzes the extrusion parameters and consumption at each stage of the production cycle. MD Nextmover also includes an innovative smart energy system for non-contact cylinder heating. By using alternating electromagnetic fields, equipment wear can be reduced and energy savings of up to 35% can be achieved.

The two twin-screw production lines are also equipped with special multi-stage thrust bearings designed to triple the dynamic load and enable the extruder to handle mass production. For smaller production lines, Bausano has developed Multidrive 2x2, which has a pair of motors to reduce the overall size while optimizing the operation of the gearbox.
